What the students’ life was like

Located in the premises of the Beaumanoir building, the private school Saint Jean Bosco accomodates the children of the 6e to the 3e and prepares for the official examination of the College Diploma.
The program is that of the Hattemer Course which operates by correspondence. The teaching are done by the Brothers of Riaumont as well as by voluntary but qualified teachers coming from outside.
The classes consist of small numbers of pupils, between five and about fifteen, which allows the teachers to personally follow each one of them. The photograph opposite shows several classes reunited for the picture.
All the pupils are boys of Riaumont but the courses of catechism on wednesdays are open to the children of the neighborhood.
For the boys of Riaumont, after school time, several activities are proposed :

  • Do-it-yourself
  • Printing works
  • Film (Friday evening and only a selection of video cassettes according to their age)
  • Play at the castle
  • Work at the farm
  • Participate at the choir
  • Musical evenings
  • Reading at the library
  • Heraldic workshop
  • Sport on one of the sports grounds
  • Participate at the choir
  • Musical evenings
  • Reading at the library
  • etc.
